Secrets to a Beautiful Deal on Dresses for Any Occasion

Whether it’s a night out on the town or a casual brunch with friends, I love to wear dresses at all occassions. From light, flowing fabrics in the summer to sweater dresses when it’s snowing, I always feel so fun, feminine, and free. Keeping my closet filled with the most comfortable fashions was taking a toll on my wallet, though. To reconcile my love of dresses with my need to stay within budget, I learned a bunch of tricks for how to save money while shopping for the hottest dresses of the season and the timeless classics I love to have on hand. In an attempt to help any other dress-addicted divas out there, I wanted to share my tricks with you. Here they are:

Earn Cash Back at Ebates

If you ever shop online, and I mean ever, you’re definitely going to want to sign up for a free Ebates account. With Ebates, you can start earning money every single time you shop online. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s such a great way to keep both your closet and your wallet happy!

Once you create an Ebates account, you’ll start earning a percentage back of all of your eligible orders at so many of your favorite fashion stores (to name just a few, I love Express specifically for party dresses, I get my work dresses from New York & Co, and I often pick up casual dresses from Old Navy to wear at home). What you earn is called Cash Back, and every store offers a different percentage amount that you can earn. Watch for special events where Cash Back is doubled, or even tripled, too.

Look for Free Shipping Deals or Promo Codes

Paying for shipping every time you shop online can really add up over time, especially if you’re a frequent shopper like I am. Some stores always offer free shipping, while others only offer it on certain items or if you spend over a certain amount of money. Sometimes you can find promo codes for free or discounted shipping at stores like Ann Taylor, and the oh-so-adorable Betsey Johnson.

Free returns are another great perk you should look for if you can find it. If you get free shipping and free returns, you never risk anything when you order something online. Otherwise, if you have to send the dress back for another size, you’ll end up paying to have it shipped to you TWICE, plus the shipping it costs to send the dress back. That’s crazy and you should avoid it at all costs by looking for free shipping possibilities.

Sign Up for Store Emails and Save

Sign up to receive emails from stores that sell the prettiest dresses like Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe and you’ll never miss out on a dress sale ever again. You’ll start getting news about upcoming sales and promotions sent directly to your email. But wait, there’s more! You’ll probably end up getting a discount just for signing up, like a code for 20% off any one item, or 10% off that very first order you place after signing up. Many stores offer these amazing incentives, so don’t miss out.

Shop Clearance, Outlet, and Sale Sections

Before you decide to shop for full-priced dresses, you should first check out sale, clearance, and outlet sections. Banana Republic Factory has prices marked down by about 60% on classic yet on-trend work and formal dresses, as well as adorable sun dresses. Saks Fifth Avenue’s sale section always has some of the most amazing dresses I’ve ever seen, at amazing prices to boot! If you’re as diligent as I am when it comes to scouring sale sections, you might end up never having to pay full price for any dress ever again!

Shop with Promo and Coupon Codes

Once you use promo and coupon codes while shopping, you’ll never want to not use them. These codes can so quickly and easily turn an amazing deal on a dress into a downright unbelievable deal, just by entering a few letters or numbers and clicking a button. Yes, it’s literally that easy.

Find promo and coupon codes for women’s dresses at Ebates. When you find a code you want to use on your order, enter the code during your online checkout and your discounts will automatically be added to your cart. Codes are always being updated and changed, so check Ebates often to always get the most current savings.

Use Store Credit Cards

Store cards are a great way to get yourself into the best dresses all while earning lots of rewards points every single time you shop. Stores like Macy’s and Nordstrom carry a huge selection of dresses, from cool and casual weekend-wear to something that will drop jaws as you walk across the room. Luckily for us, they usually also have excellent perks in place as incentives for both opening and continuing to use a store card. Bloomingdale’s gives new cardholders 10% off orders the day of and day after you open up your card, for example.

Shop Seasonal Sales

Seasonal sales are the best when it comes to shopping for women’s dresses. I can always find the best skirts and dresses for the season at amazing prices during the summer, and all my warm and cozy turtleneck and sweater dresses at an early winter seasonal sale. Watch for these seasonal sales towards the beginning and end of each season, and sometimes right around different holidays. Trust me — they’re so worth waiting for.
